Provision made in Estimates (page 46 sub-head 20)...$ 130,000
1. The vote for 1933 was $160,000 of which $136,980 only was expended, largely owing to the fact that certain Crown Agents' and other accounts for passages during that year were paid out of the 1934 vote.
2. The authorised provision for this year has been fully expended, the increase over the estimated requirements, over and above the expenditure referred to in paragraph one, being due to the fact that the unusually large number of 13 officers availed themselves while on leave of their eligibility to marry, 3 officers were dismissed and 3 prematurely retired on pension, while 5 wives and children have been sent home for various reasons prior to the normal leave date.
A supplementary vote for $55,000 to meet the estimated requirements until the end of 1934 is requested.
